Medicine Basket

A Reflection on Living Prayer

Before we begin, I offer this reflection —
a simple teaching that once shaped my path
and continues to guide the way I live and create.

Many years ago, a wise woman taught me how to make a medicine basket.
“When you weave with intention,” she said,
“your basket will hold the essence of your medicine.”

She spoke of my prayers as medicine,
and that knowing entered my heart like light finding water.
From that day on, I often remember her teaching —
to live as though I am always weaving,
each thought, each gesture, each word a strand of prayer.

My medicine, as I have come to understand it,
is the expression of my soul in this lifetime.
When I practice what makes my heart sing,
that song moves outward, calling others to remember their own.
Together our melodies become the great harmony of creation.

As we sing, play, and create in resonance,
we begin to see that Heaven on Earth is not a destination,
but a state of being —
a frequency of living prayer.

When life itself becomes the prayer,
joy unfolds naturally,
grace moves without effort,
and feeling good becomes the inevitable result
of being in alignment with the Living Light.
